SweetBerries at Hogtown Craft Beer Fest April 5th

SweetBerries Eatery and Frozen Custard will be one of many vendors providing food pairings to enhance your beer drinking experience at the Hogtown Craft Beer Fest on Saturday, April 5th. The Fest will take place at Kanapaha Botanical Gardens. The Garden opens at 9am, the Festival opens at 1pm.

SweetBerries will be serving up four flavors of our rich and creamy frozen custard ice cream. We’ll have flavors to pair with a wide range of beers and hard ciders. Get a scoop right in your beer (yes beer floats are yummy!) or get a scoop on the side.

A Taste of SweetBerries on Tour of Kitchens Today

The Junior League of Gainesville is hosting their annual Tour of Kitchens today, March 1st. SweetBerries will be at the Erbes home treating visitors to a taste of our delicious chicken salad and broccoli salad. Over 600 guests are expected to tour these beautiful homes. Ticket sales benefit Miracle on Main Street, Kids in the Kitchen, Read With Me, Girls on the Run and Alachua Habitat for Humanity.

SweetBerries Hosts Eastside Hunger Project Fundraiser

SweetBerries Eatery and Frozen Custard will host Eastside High School’s Eastside Hunger Project Fundraiser today from 4-8pm. Eastside High students will be on hand to talk to you about their project and collect food donations.

The Eastside Hunger Project is a project organized by students at Eastside High School with the charity Feeding Children Everywhere to raise $10,000 to pack 40,000 meals for children in Alachua County. The items collected for the food donation are:

  • Bottled Water
  • Canned Chicken
  • Canned Tuna
  • Canned Fruit
  • Canned Vegetables
  • Crackers
  • Granola Bars
  • Baby Food and Formula
  • Powdered Milk and Dry Cereals
  • Peanut Butter

A food donation box will remain up until Sunday, January 19th. Customers bringing in a food donation from the 16th-19th will get a free 6oz cup of frozen custard with their food order! Please come by to support this wonderful cause.

SweetBerries will donate 10% of all sales from 4-10pm this evening to the project.

Book Signing Today at SweetBerries Eatery and Frozen Custard

Author Mike Osmond is at SweetBerries Eatery and Frozen Custard today, January 9th, to do a book signing for his book “Sometimes the Appalachian Trail is…”.

Mike Osmond is the brainchild behind the SweetBerries brand, starting his first store in Bradenton, FL in 1999 with his wife, Cindy.  He is now a part owner of our SweetBerries in Gainesville.

In 2007 Mike hiked the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine, blogging his adventures along the way on TrailJournals.com.

In 2012, Mike published his adventures in a racey, “for mature audiences only” book available at Amazon.com.  He will be at SweetBerries today to sign copies of his book for interested readers.

SweetBerries Gainesville Ribbon Cutting, Oct 17th

SweetBerries Eatery and Frozen Custard is having a formal Ribbon Cutting to announce our opening in Gainesville on Thursday, October 17th from 11am-Noon. The Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce will say a few words, we’ll cut the ribbon, and from 11-12 all food and beverages are 20% OFF. We’ll have FREE custard tastes, free SweetBerries decals for your car, and a $50 gift card raffle. From 8-9:30pm we’ll have light jazz on the patio and 10% of sales from the evening will be donated to Haile’s Angels Pet Rescue.

Please come out and join us as we have our long awaited celebration of the opening of our store in Gainesville!

We have recently begun using MailChimp to handle our email subscriptions for Latest News!

MailChimp is a really great tool. One of the new features we can offer is to allow our subscribers to select which store (or multiple stores) they would like to receive an email alert from each time we post to Latest News!

Also, we plan to offer discounts and savings coupons through our Latest News! posts.

This post I’m working on now is a test of sorts. I placed it in a category that will not send an email to everyone on the list, but most of our posts will be in the category of one or more of our SweetBerries Locations.
